IT Students Explore Practical AI Applications in Business Through Industry Guest Lecture

The IT study programs at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) organized a guest lecture titled “Practical Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Business Processes: Automation, Reporting, and RAG” within the CS498 – Special Topics in Computer Science I course.

The lecture was delivered by Mr. Jasmin Dudić from Bloomteq and Ms. Fatima Skaka-Čekić from BH Telecom, an expert in practice at IUS. Drawing on their professional experience, the speakers shared practical, project-based insights into the application of artificial intelligence in real business environments.

The event brought together students interested in generative artificial intelligence and its real-world use cases. During the session, participants were introduced to concrete applications of AI in business processes, including process automation, data extraction, and AI-driven report generation. Special attention was given to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and its growing importance in efficiently working with large and complex datasets.

The lecture featured live demonstrations, real project examples, and an interactive Q&A session, enabling students to engage directly with the speakers and explore how theoretical concepts are translated into practical solutions.

Overall, the event provided valuable insight into how generative AI technologies are implemented in industry and organizational settings, further strengthening the connection between academic learning and practical application.
