IUS Hosts GDG Sarajevo #096: Strengthening Tech Skills and Community Collaboration
International University of Sarajevo (IUS) hosted GDG Sarajevo #096, continuing its collaboration with Google Developer Groups (GDG) to foster practical tech skills and community engagement.
The event began with an introduction by Kemal Colović, GDG Sarajevo community lead, who presented the mission of the GDG network and its role in supporting local tech talent. Participants were introduced to the Google Cloud Skills Boost platform, gaining access to over 700 labs and professional courses in key areas such as DevOps, machine learning, and data analytics.
Guest speaker Amela Špica delivered a real-world case study on migrating banking infrastructure to Google Cloud, highlighting topics like security, IAM, and Terraform. Namik Merzić, a certified Google Cloud professional, shared valuable insights from his certification journey and career path.
This event reflects the growing partnership between IUS and GDG Sarajevo, bringing together students, academics, and industry professionals to support the development of Sarajevo’s tech ecosystem. More collaborative initiatives are planned for the future.
